摘要: Numerical modeling tools can be used for a number of reasons yielding many benefits in their application to planetary upper atmosphere and ionosphere environments. These are commonly predict characteristics interpret measurements once they obtained. Additional applications these include conducting diagnostic balance studies, converting raw into useful physical parameters, comparing features processes different atmospheres. This chapter focuses upon various classes numerical tools, the equations solved key assumptions made, specified inputs tunable common applications, finally notable strengths weaknesses. Examples model specific individual environments will described.
