摘要: We induced mutations in Drosophila melanogaster males by treating them with 21.2 mm ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS). Nine quantitative traits (developmental time, viability, fecundity, longevity, metabolic rate, motility, body weight, and abdominal sternopleural bristle numbers) were measured outbred heterozygous F3 (viability) or F2 (all other traits) offspring from the treated males. The mean values of first four traits, which are all directly related to life history, substantially affected EMS mutagenesis: developmental time increased while longevity declined. In contrast, five not significantly affected. Rates recessive X-linked lethals at several loci affecting eye color imply that our treatment was equivalent approximately 100 generations spontaneous mutation. If so, data one generation mutation increases 0.09% 20 degrees 0.04% 25 degrees, reduces viability under harsh conditions, 1.35, 0.21, 0.08%, respectively. Comparison flies none, one, two grandfathers (or greatgrandfathers, case viability) did reveal any significant epistasis among mutations.
