摘要: We examined the capacity of children, adolescents, and young adults to assent consent participation in biomedical research, what physician-investigators believe is important for patients these age groups know about such participation. The sample included 44 male female subjects, ranging from 7 20 years, who were hospitalized treat elther pediatric cancer or obesity. participants completed a structured interview that assessed knowledge research using elements outlined federal guidelines informed consent. study subjects most knowledgeable those concrete information (e.g., freedom ask questions, time involved, benefits participation).
