摘要: Ten abomasally cannulated crossbred wether lambs (avg wt, 33 kg) were used in a replicated 5 x latin square design to determine the site and extent of apparent absorption Mg when fed different sources Mg. Lambs twice daily 220 g chopped mixed grass hay 180 corn-based supplement (control; .13% mg, DM basis), or control diet supplemented with (.26% Mg, basis) from MgO, magnesium citrate (MgC), smectite-vermiculite (Mg-Mica) MgOH. maintained metabolism stalls during each five experimental periods. Each period consisted 7-d dietary adjustment followed by 3-d collection abomasal samples, feces urine. Abomasal contents sampled four times period. The contained .5% chromium oxide as digestion marker. Apparent was .17, .55, .85, .78 .82 g/d for control, MgC, Mg-Mica MgOH diets, respectively. (g/d) similar (P greater than .05) diets less those diet. Preintestinal .21, .57, 1.08, .14 .92 fed. absorbed quantities preintestinal region MgC diets.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
