摘要: Apathy is associated with impaired neuropsychological functioning in individuals HIV. While cognitive reserve (CR) delays neurocognitive decline, CR's relationship apathy has never been studied. We examined association 116 HIV-positive recruited from an urban AIDS center and assessed whether this moderated by age and/or disease severity. Participants completed the Wechsler Test of Adult Reading Evaluation Scale. A CR-composite, combining years education word-reading ability, significantly predicted (t = -2.37, p .02). was not age, but participants nadir CD4 levels ≤ 200 demonstrated a stronger -3.25, .002) than those > -0.61, .55). These findings suggest protective effect CR against HIV-infected across span, particularly after certain threshold
