摘要: • In mixed-species forest stands, large losses in tree species diversity often occur during the regeneration phase. a former coppice-with-standards, we investigated whether limiting stage recruitment process of advance is immediate seedling response to canopy release. Experimental gaps were opened and survival growth seedlings (Fagus sylvatica, Acer pseudoplatanus, campestre, platanoides) growing or under closed monitored for three years. • All responded positively rapidly Survival was not affected by gap opening. Diameter increment after opening similar across species, height greater platanoides pseudoplatanus. Post-release diameter mainly determined pre-release size. Competition from neighbouring did affect years following opening. • F. sylvatica sp. regeneration, recovery release appear as step that would filter against some species. Pre-release size main factor accounting post-release probably major determinant long-term dominance.
