摘要: Signal transduction from the calcium-sensing receptor (CaR) has potential to exhibit any or all of complexities demonstrated for other G-protein coupled receptors (GPCR). Biological responses associated with activation CaR include regulation hormone secretion, ion channels, migration, proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The mechanisms linking these diverse are complex multi-layered, numerous opportunities cross-talk between pathways. Furthermore, predominant biological response is highly cell-type specific, implying that presence absence specific signaling intermediaries may have a profound effect on outcome.
