Frequency of occult residual melanoma after excision of a clinically positive regional lymph node

摘要: A retrospective study of the medical records 102 patients with Stage II malignant melanoma was conducted to determine frequency occult residual after excision a clinically positive regional lymph node. Twenty-one met criteria for evaluation. Fifteen 22 dissections were (68.1%). These results support definitive node dissection if excisional biopsy are abnormal. No conclusions can be drawn from these data regarding survival advantage therapeutic dissection.
