摘要: Abstract The structural evolution during mechanical alloying elemental Al and graphite was characterized by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), electron microscopy (SEM). grain size of C both decreased with increasing milling time in the initial stage milling, then diffused into to form a solid solution. Al4C3 might be produced either annealing Al–C solution or MA mixture for longer time. formation an exothermic process, but released heat not high enough ignite self-sustained reaction. Although peaks samples milled than 30 h disappeared on XRD patterns, unreacted aluminum still existed even 100 h.
