摘要: Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) is the leading neoplasm of AIDS patients, and HIV infection known to be a major risk factor for its development. However, KS can occur in absence development varies widely even among HIV-infected with homosexual men being 20 times more likely develop than AIDS-afflicted children or hemophiliacs. These other data strongly suggest that sexually transmitted agent co-factor may involved pathogenesis. Recently, DNA sequences corresponding genome novel member herpesvirus family have been identified within AIDS-KS biopsies, several reports indicate these are also present all forms HIV-negative KS. findings this new agent, referred as KS-associated (KSHV) human 8 (HHV8), candidate putative etiologic cofactor. role remains hotly debated. Further progress understanding biology has severely hampered by lack cell culture system virus growth. Here we report lytic growth latently infected B line first ultrastructural visualization virus. This will facilitate detailed study molecular viral replication, testing antiviral drugs diagnostic tests infection.
