摘要: Background. The extracellular matrix (ECM) derived from porcine small intestinal submucosa (SIS) has been used as a constructive scaffold for tissue repair in both preclinical animal studies and human clinical trials. Quantitative characterization of the host response to this xenogeneic material lacking. Materials methods. morphologic multilaminate form SIS–ECM was evaluated chronic, 2-year study body wall two separate species: dog rat. Morphologic compared that three other commonly bioscaffold materials including Marlex mesh, Dexon, Perigard. measurements were made consistency, polymorphonuclear cell response, mononuclear organization, vascularity at five time points after surgical implantation: 1 week, 1, 3, 6 dmonths, 2 years. Results. All functioned well device large ventral abdominal defects created these models. showed greater number leukocytes 1-week point degree graft site organization 3 months materials. There no evidence local infection or detrimental pathology any point. Conclusions. Like Marlex, Perigard, is an effective long-term defects. Unlike materials, resorbable replaced by well-organized tissues differentiated skeletal muscle.
