摘要: No data are available to describe six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) knee-joint kinematics for one complete cycle of overground walking following total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The aims this study were firstly, measure 6-DOF and condylar motion TKA; secondly, determine whether such differed between treadmill gait when participants walked at the same speed during both tasks. A unique mobile biplane X-ray imaging system enabled accurate measurement TKA by simultaneously tracking joint. largest rotations occurred flexion-extension internal-external rotation whereas translations associated with joint distraction anterior-posterior drawer. Strong associations found adduction-abduction (R2 = 0.92), = 1.00), translation = 0.77), providing evidence kinematic coupling in knee. Although measured profiles grossly similar those walking, several statistically significant differences observed two conditions respect temporo-spatial parameters, kinematics, contact locations sliding. Thus, caution is advised making recommendations regarding implant performance based on treadmill-measured data. © 2016 Orthopaedic Research Society. Published Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
