摘要: Between 1997 and 1999, five domestic crossbred cats (four long haired, one short haired) presented with a palpable abdominal mass were shown to have small intestinal trichobezoars at laparotomy or necropsy. Hair balls associated partial complete obstruction situated in the proximal jejunum distal ileum. In four obstructions simple, while remaining cat had strangulating obstruction. Three of 10 years older, two less than 4 years. three older neoplasia was suspected investigations delayed declined these because perceived poor prognosis. Predisposing factors identified this series included long-hair coat, flea allergy dermatitis, inflammatory bowel disease ingestion non-digestible plant material. This report shows that hair is not always innocuous should be considered differential diagnoses intra-abdominal lesions, particularly long-haired cats.
