摘要: Abstract. Water uptake is required when plants enlarge but growth may also occur no external water present. To determine whether this depends on water, we studied etiolated seedlings of soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) deprived by transplanting to vermiculite low content or transferring water-saturated air. When the supply was decreased removed, roots continued grow rapidly stems abruptly in (in 1 min) and slowly. The stem tissues gained upper elongating region lost basal region. Removal caused slow further. all surrounding were removed simultaneously, near zero. Control experiments showed that not wounding removal auxin nutrient supply. It concluded always depended a source and, supplies absent, internal mobilized enlarging shoots mostly from these seedlings.
