Characterization and Crystal Structure of some Schiff Base Copper(II) Complexes derived from Enantiomeric Pairs of Chiral Amines

摘要: Copper(II) complexes of three chiral enantiomeric pairs o-hydroxy Schiff bases derived from (R)-(+)-1-phenylethylamine and (S)-(-)-1-phenylethylamine, were prepared characterized. Elemental analyses, specific rotation, i.r., electronic, cd mass spectra,and some X-ray crystal structures obtained. The study four shows that the geometry around metal atom is distorted square planar. Epr studies all these in DMF solution at 77 K suggest their geometries are slightly different to observed solid state by crystallography. Although, spectra only show charge transfer absorptions, data confirm character obtained complexes.
