摘要: Nonhuman primates are considered as the natural hosts of Hepatitis A virus (HAV), well other pathogens, and can serve sentinels to investigate epizootics endemic diseases that public health importance. During this study, blood samples were collected from 112 Neotropical (NTPs) (Sapajus nigritus S. cay, n = 75; Alouatta caraya, 37) trap-captured at Parana River basin, Brazil, located between States Mato Grosso do Sul. Anti-HAV IgG antibodies detected in 4.5% (5/112) NTPs, specifically 6.7% (5/75) Sapajus spp. 0% (0/37) A. caraya. In addition, all negative for presence IgM anti-HAV antibodies. These results suggest free-ranging NTPs exposed HAV within geographical regions evaluated.
