摘要: The seasonal dynamics of Ornithodoros (O.) savignyi and infection with Borrelia sp. in the tick, domestic animals man were investigated village Dahshore, Giza governorate from August 1996 through July 1997. tick population densities adults immatures high during period June to October maximum levels September respectively. Adults predominated (58.6%-80.0%) May highest abundance January while prevailed (51.3%-65.8%) rest year reaching a peak September. Of 1202 examined, spirochetes detected 427 (35.5%). annual rate varied 34.4%-36.9% no significant difference among larvae, nymphs, males females. 1396 sera 553 host tested, 309 (22.1%) 157 (28.4%), respectively, reactive for antibody antigen camel (47.8%), followed by sheep (23.8%), goat (18.0%) cow (16.0%), then least buffalo (10.9%). Changes prevalence correlated positively changes density. four events lowest winter early spring increased afterward reach maxima summer or fall (July-September).
