摘要: Parental care in mammals is influenced by sensory stimuli from infants, and changes the hormone levels of caretakers. To determine responsiveness to infant cues nonreproductive adult male common marmosets (Callithrix jacchus) with without previous experience caretaking, we exposed 12 males newborn assessed their cortisol plasma behavioral response. Newborn housed transparent enclosures were placed inside cages subjects. Males four times two different experimental conditions: (a) remained closed during observation period (b) opened allow direct social interaction males. Blood samples collected after each trial measure cortisol. The responses open showed a significant difference only respect frequency displacements, where moved among quadrants own greater when enclosure was sealed. Experienced approached more frequently, spent time close proximity, carried recovered newborns quickly than inexperienced successive exposure increased highest recorded following periods sealed enclosures. This suggests that alloparental caregiving while living family groups influences newborns.
