Summary The bovine blood neutrophil phagocytosis and the milk lymphocyte proliferative response upon stimulation with Phytohaemagglutinin, Concanavalin A Pokeweed mitogens was studied from 3 weeks prior to calving until after calving. Neutrophil total differential leukocyte counts were performed by flow cytometry. A gradual increase in percentage of phagocytized bacteria average number per phagocyte observed before followed a sharp fall on first day postpartum. This steady above parameters reaching highest levels at two There neutrophils as approached decrease The lymphocytes dropped calving, being lowest level calving. The three low during week preceding parturition value returned higher second while that remained postpartum weeks. Reaktivitat wieder hohere zweiten Kalben, wogegen wahrend schwach reagierten.
