In this study we describe how different diets, food components, production methods can be evaluated using the Ecological Footprint. We also present results randomly selected sample from “typical” Scottish pre-“Hungry for Success” campaign (H4S) school menu compared to that meets nutritional H4S standards. The method accounts direct indirect environmental impacts, combining existing National Footprint Accounts with input-output-analysis. Based on data UK Food Survey, final Footprints were modelled REAP software tool. show by eating diet follows recommendations, reduced significantly. Further reductions could achieved choosing plant based over animal foods, local imported food. will demonstrate an integrated policy approach is needed address problems in consumption health, environmental, socio-economic perspective.
