摘要: Corona discharge based unipolar ionizers are commonly used for reducing aerosol particle concentrations in indoor environments. The ions (usually negative) emitted from the ionizer help charging airborne particles, which then removed air space by electro-migration effects to walls of room due charge induced electric fields. A system equations has been formulated considering various processes responsible removal presence ionizers. These pertain generated fields, charging, ion and rates under combined action diffusion, gravitational sedimentation, external ventilation study includes steady-state situations corresponding a continuous injection particles as well time dependent depletion an initially injected aerosol. Model computations have made examine dependence characteristics concentration reduction factors (CRFs) on sizes, rates. factor is found increase at higher concentrations. However, it considerably reduced even small amount ventilation. model predictions compare favourably with results some experimental studies reported earlier investigators that carried out part present study.
