摘要: Abstract An exposure chamber is described for the quantifiable addition of fine and ultrafine aerosol particulate matter directly to cells used demonstrate in vitro cytotoxicity 1,4-naphthoquinone particles murine lung epithelial cells. The electrostatic dosage system (EPDExS) operates on principle precipitation shown deposit with 100% efficiency particle diameters range 40–530 nm. This not limited by EPDExS, but rather aerosolization method this study. Numbers deposited onto are counted a condensation counter, negating any need calculate or estimate exposure. process introduction, assessed using Trypan blue dye exclusion, had no effect cell viability. In combination differential mobility classifier, EPDExS can deliver select ability control diameter number permits toxicity studies different metrics, i.e., size, surface area mass. Finally, because introduces from aerosol, it be expose grown at air/liquid interfaces.
