摘要: Abstract Nucleotide excision repair is a DNA pathway that highly conserved in nature, with analogous systems described Escherichia coli, yeast, and mammalian cells. The rate-limiting step, damage recognition excision, effected by the protein products of genes ERCC1 XPAC. We therefore assessed mRNA levels XPAC malignant ovarian cancer tissues from 28 patients were harvested before administration platinum-based chemotherapy. Cancer whose tumors clinically resistant to therapy (n = 13) showed greater total (P 0.059), full length transcript 0.026), 0.011), as compared tumor those individuals sensitive 15). In 19 these tissues, percentage alternative splicing was assessed. variable, no difference observed between responders nonresponders. alternatively spliced species constituted 2-58% (median 18%) 4-71% nonresponders 13%). These data suggest activity platinum compounds. also indicate variable vivo, whether or not such are therapy.
