摘要: This paper presents a brief review of the international scientific literature polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and biphenyls (PBBs) in sewage sludge survey these compounds from 16 Australian wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). The SigmaPBDE mean concentration study was 1137microgkg(-1) dry weight (d.w.) (s.d. 1116) ranged between 5 4 230microgkg(-1)d.w. urban 1308microgkg(-1) 1320) rural 911microgkg(-1) 831) are not statistically different similar to levels European sludges. Principal components analysis performed on data set revealed that 76% variation could be explained by two corresponded overall pentaBDE decaBDE commercial formulations. An variance comparing PBDEs at three WWTPs over years 2005 2006, finding differences (BDE-47) but no significant difference PBDE 2006. Low BB-153 were detected all samples this (n=16); 0.6microgkg(-1)d.w. 0.5). compound has rarely been reported any other sludges undertaken outside Australia. work highlights need for risk assessment when used land application, taking into account typical found soils.
