摘要: Inthepresent study, mPA-DandmPA-Eagar,modifications ofmPA-Cagarthatreduce background fecal streptococci thatinterfere withthedifferentiation andenumeration ofthePseudomonas aeruginosa colonies grown inothermPA media, are proposed foruseinanalyzing natural watersamples. Inaddition, the efficiencies ofseveral culture mediafortherecoveryofP.aeruginosainwaterafter membranefiltration and multiple-tube techniques arecompared. Thedegree ofselectivity, precision, efficiency, andsensitivity achieved withtheproposed mediaexceeded thatachieved bycurrent methods. Furthermore, theyyielded equal rates of accuracyandspecificity. Incubation at36°Cresulted inan improved recoveryofstressed P.aeruginosa. In conclusion, we proposetheuseofmPA-DandmPA-Eagar,bothincubated at36°Cfor24to48h,foranalyzing river waterandseawater, respectively.
