摘要: Summary. The recovery of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Streptococcus faecalis from aqueous suspending media has been studied with a rich plating medium (trypticase-soy agar) selective media. Tap water was highly toxic to all strains investigated. Recovery Ps. aeruginosa most successful when phosphate buffer the diluent. Phosphate did not improve E. coli. remained viable suspended in double distilled water, deionized or buffer. Following lag period grew 0.1% peptone stream water. Injury preventing cells on occurred during suspension tested, including those which supported growth. These observations suggest difficulties inherent interpretation bacteriological results obtained surveys sources need reduce selectivity against injured cells.
