摘要: The incidence and severity of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in Japan tends to increase elderly women. Rikkunshito (RKT), a traditional Japanese medicine, acts as prokinetic agent improves gastric emptying accommodation. Our previous prospective randomized placebo-controlled study showed that RKT combined with standard-dose rabeprazole (RPZ) significantly improved the acid-related dysmotility symptoms (ARD) patients proton pump inhibitor (PPI)-refractory non-erosive (NERD). This aimed evaluate clinical characteristics PPI-refractory NERD ARD who responded RKT. Two hundred forty-two were randomly assigned 8 weeks either RPZ (10 mg/q.d.) + RKT (7.5 g/t.i.d.) (RKT group) or RPZ + placebo (PL group). Among them, 95 (≥65 years) group: n = 52; PL n = 43). We analyzed changes using 12 subscale score frequency scale for GERD (FSSG) 15 items Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale at 4 compared therapeutic efficacy between 2 groups. There no marked differences baseline demographic groups except rate current smoking. FSSG (mean ± SD 0, 4, 8 weeks) both (16.0 7.0; 9.9 8.4; 7.0 6.4) (15.1 6.4; 10.9 6.7, 11.1 8.5) decreased after treatment. However, degree improvement total scores 8-week treatment was greater group than group. Combination therapy weeks significant 3 (abdominal bloating, heavy feeling stomach sick meals) domain 1 (heartburn symptom domain. may be useful improving ARD. Thus, particularly effective resolving postprandial (heavy stomach, feeling, heartburn meals). ( UMIN000005880 )
