摘要: Abstract Objectives. The IL6 −174 promoter polymorphism impacts serum cytokine levels through transcriptional regulation. objective of our study was to determine if genotype influences survival in ovarian cancer. Methods. assessed by direct DNA sequencing lymphocyte from 160 women with invasive ovarian, or peritoneal cancers. were measured ascites and plasma a subset cases using colorimetric sandwich ELISA procedure. Overall calculated according the method Kaplan Meier. Cox regression analysis used evaluate significance individual variables multivariate analysis. Chi-square Fishers Exact assess contingency tables. Results. frequencies CC (19%), CG (50%), GG (31%) Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium similar published Caucasian controls. There no associations age, stage optimal cytoreduction. Stage had significant impact on ( p =0.003). significantly associated longer overall (median 131 months) compared 28 months, =0.0007). In cox covariates =0.006) =0.02), both independently significant. Furthermore, there association found between plasma, genotype, stage, survival. Conclusions. has strong, independent, favorable for carcinoma.
