摘要: Rationale and Objectives Social distancing mandates due to COVID-19 have necessitated adaptations radiology trainee workflow educational practices, including the “readout.” We describe how a large academic department achieved socially distant “remote readouts,” provide attending perspectives on this early experience, propose ways by which readouts” can be used effectively training programs beyond COVID-19. Materials Methods Beginning March 2020, radiologists were relocated workspaces outside of conventional reading rooms. Information technologies employed allow for between trainees attendings. An optional anonymous open-ended survey regarding remote readouts was administered attendings as quality improvement initiative. From responses, response themes abstracted using thematic analysis. Descriptive statistics qualitative data calculated. Results Radiologist workstations from 14 traditional rooms 36 across hospital system. Two models readouts, synchronous asynchronous, developed, facilitated commercially available information technologies. Thirty-nine 105 (37%) 42 90 (47%) responded survey. Main included: social distancing, technology, autonomy/competency, efficiency, education/feedback atmosphere/professional relationship. One hundred forty-eight positive versus 97 negative comments reported. autonomy/competency most positively rated. Trainees differed efficiency readouts. Conclusion “Remote compliant with measures, are feasible in practice settings. Perspectives our initial experience insight into accomplished, opportunities future application, pandemic.
