摘要: Backgrounds: To determine the true incidence of hGISA/GISA and its consequent clinical impact, methods must be defined that will reliably reproducibly discriminate these resistant phenotypes from vancomycin susceptible S. aureus (VSSA). Methods: This study assessed compared ability eight Dutch laboratories under blinded conditions to VSSA intra- inter-laboratory reproducibility agar screening plates Etest method. A total 25 unique strains (10 VSSA, 9 hGISA 6 GISA) were categorized by PAP-AUC method PFGE typed eliminate clonal duplication. All deliberately added in quadruplets evaluate intralaboratory variability methods. Strains tested using three methods, Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) + µg/ml vancomycin, Mueller Hinton (MH) 5 MH teicoplanin) macromethod a 2 McFarland inoculum.
