摘要: A major goal of biological classification is to provide a system that conveys phylogenetic relationships while facilitating lucid communication among researchers. Phylogenetic taxonomy useful framework for defining clades and delineating their taxonomic content according well-supported hypotheses. The Crinoidea (Echinodermata) one the five living echinoderms has rich fossil record spanning nearly half billion years. Using principles recent analyses, we first phylogeny-based definition Clade its constituent subclades. series stem- node-based definitions are provided all taxa traditionally recognized within Crinoidea, including Camerata, Disparida, Hybocrinida, Cladida, Flexibilia, Articulata. Following recommendations proposed in revisions, recognize several new clades, Eucamerata Cole 2017, Porocrinoidea Wright Eucladida 2017. In addition, analyses support resurrection two names previously abandoned crinoid literature: Pentacrinoidea Jaekel, 1918 Inadunata Wachsmuth Springer, 1885. Last, perspective used inform comprehensive revision traditional rank-based classification. Although an attempt was made minimize changes system, numerous were necessary some cases achieve monophyly. These classifications template paleontologists, biologists, non-experts alike better explore evolutionary patterns processes with crinoids.
