摘要: Purpose: To review the current radiological methodologies and guidelines for staging follow-up in oncology, to give a perspective based on available new technologies oncologic radiology. Materials Methods: The literature cancer radiologic quantification diagnostic phase has been reviewed. main concepts (official non-official) have extracted taking into account period of publication technology. World Health Organization (WHO) Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors (RECIST) critically evaluated basis technical quantitative radiology applied oncology. Pitfalls previous exploited currently techniques quantification. Results: Errors due operator, scanner, software, measurement technique inconsistency are all together far more relevant than recognized thresholds detecting therapeutic response. For this reason volumetric assessment disease should be introduced. Conclusion: Even though constraints still prominent clinical practice, design trials planned these techniques.
