摘要: BACKGROUND The combination of radiation therapy and chemotherapy (chemoradiotherapy [CRT]) has been accepted as standard for patients with locally advanced pancreatic carcinoma (PC). This study investigated prognostic factors in PC receiving CRT. METHODS Fifty-five consecutive PC, who received concurrent radiotherapy (50.4 grays) using 5-fluorouracil or cisplatin, were analyzed retrospectively to investigate factors. RESULTS Median survival time overall rates at 1 2 years 301 days, 35.1% 2.4%, respectively. By multivariate analysis the Cox proportional hazards model, performance status 0–1 (P < 0.01), absence regional lymph node swelling serum CA 19-9 level less than 1000 = 0.02) independent favorable factors. A index based on coefficients those was used classify into three groups good, intermediate, poor prognoses. The median times these 410, 239, 143 respectively 0.01). CONCLUSIONS The results may be helpful predicting life expectancy, determining treatment strategies, designing future clinical trials. Cancer 2001;91:490–5. © 2001 American Society.
