摘要: Hop bitter acids play a major role in enhancing the microbiological stability of beer. However, beer spoilage lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are able to grow by exhibiting strong hop resistance. Recently two resistance genes, horA and horC, have been identified Lactobacillus brevis ABBC45. The gene was shown encode an ATP dependent multidrug transporter that extrudes out bacterial cells. In contrast, product horC confers presumably acting as proton motive force (PMF)-dependent transporter. Strikingly, homologs genes were found be widely almost exclusively distributed various species LAB strains, indicating these excellent species-independent genetic markers for differentiating ability LAB. Furthermore nucleotide sequence analysis revealed both essentially identical among distinct species, acquired through horizontal transfer. Taken collectively, insights provide basis applying determination LAB, including yet uncharacterized species. addition mechanisms mediated transporters, translocating ATPase production system contribute generating PMF necessary survival
