摘要: We have, in the last few years, witnessed development and availability of an ever increasing number computer models that describe complex biological structures processes. The multi-scale multi-physics nature these makes their particularly challenging, not only from a or biophysical viewpoint but also mathematical computational perspective. In addition, issue sharing reusing such has proved to be problematic, with published often lacking information is required accurately reproduce results. International Union Physiological Sciences Physiome Project was launched 1997 aim tackling aforementioned issues by providing framework for modelling human body. As part this initiative, specifications CellML mark-up language were released 2001. Now, more than 7 years later, time come assess situation, particular regard tools techniques are now available community. Thus, after introducing CellML, we review discuss existing editors, validators, online repository, code generators simulation environments, as well Application Program Interface. address possible future directions including need additional languages.
