Open the Windows of Communication: Promoting Interpersonal and Group Interactions Using Blogs in Higher Education

摘要: Using educational blogs enriches online learning by creating a peer dialogue in the form of reader response or peer-blogger-peer feedback sequence. The present study explores interpersonal and group interactions an academic course using blogs. findings show that, as predicted theory electronic propinquity (TEP), feeling nearness transmitted students via blog posts interacted with different behavior variables (i.e., choosing post content-type, calling for feedback, responding to peers' comments) positively affected students’ interactions. Furthermore, bloggers' ongoing responses readers' comments promote additional feedback. According hypothesis, private authorship personal interaction patterns comparison multi-authored wikis. While promoted communication among all students, wiki were student offline former acquaintance social contact. suggest some recommendations concerning use order encourage interactivity students: (1) projecting audience, (2) sharing work experiences, feelings related especially thoughts, rather than providing information, (3) (4) peers’ comments.
