摘要: The distribution of drugs into the cerebrospinal fluid has long been considered a challenging field investigation in 2 major respects: (a) understanding how physicochemical properties (molecular weight, pKa, plasma protein binding) various molecules influence their movements across such specific structure as blood-brain barrier; and (b) defining relationship between concentrations central (side) effects. An attempt made to review very dispersed information presently available offer clinically orientated picture this area pharmacokinetics. Drugs acting on nervous system (benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, anticonvulsants, opioids), antibacterial agents, cardiovascular (β-adrenoceptor blockers digoxin), antineoplastic (mainly methotrexate), other miscellaneous agents (corticosteroids, cimetidine, methylxanthines) are reviewed.
