Performance management and measurement concepts for better management control in public hospitals? : a study of the hospital sector in Norway

摘要: This paper investigates the link between performance measures and decision-making processes in Norwegian hospital sector. The research findings are expected to add knowledge implementation of measurements management systems this context. performance-based acts as an element reform that is similar New Public Management wave affecting sector internationally. empirical study based on surveys at national level, structured interviews a large university department, statistics gathered from accounting system clinical department level. A major conclusion standard unit cost per patient, which important benchmarking data, does not give relevant information for decisions hospital. Furthermore, crudeness input output hampers health care institutions.
