摘要: Safety studies of the HTGR system indicate that radioactive iodine, released from fuel to helium coolant, may pose a problem concern if no attenuation amount iodine occurs in coolant circuit. Since information on behavior this was incomplete, adsorption materials studied vacuum as function pressure and adsorber temperature. Iodine coverages Fe/sub 3/O/sub 4/ Cr/sub 2/O/sub 3/ approached maxima about 2 x 10/sup 14/ 1 atoms/cm/sup 2/, respectively, whereas coverage graphite under similar conditions found be less by factor 100. desorption same into or flowing investigated, limited basis, coverage, temperature, dry vs wet helium. The rate related spectrum energies sites. A small water vapor enhanced iron powder but appeared have effect metal oxides.
