摘要: In order to provide estimates of the risks symptomatic osteoporosis and reduced bone density in premenopausal women treated with long-term (greater than 1 month) heparin therapy, we evaluated a cohort 61 consecutive previously (cases) group controls matched for age, parity duration between last pregnancy evaluation. All patients underwent dual photon absorptiometry lumbar spine single wrist most cases plain lateral radiography thoracolumbar exclude silent fractures. Although none suffered fractures (0 61, 95% confidence intervals 0.0 5.9%), there was significantly greater proportion below our pre-defined levels. The implications findings are uncertain but because it is possible that reduction predisposes fractures, this potential risk should be considered when treating heparin.
