摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on assessing oxygen sensitivity of the multidrug resistance (MDR) gene. A major obstacle in development effective cancer chemotherapy is tumor (MDR1) phenotype. Multiple approaches are available to study function MDR1/P-gp and how such functions relate hypoxia. Results these functional analyses may have broad implications for studying MDR1-expressing tumors overall resistance. MDR1 expression patients most prominent solid tumors, correlates positively with propensity lymph node spread metastases. The majority particularly those a P-glycoprotein (P-gp) expression, stain positive nuclear HIF-1α. discusses methods investigating mechanisms hypoxia-dependent regulation gene epithelial cells. Analysis mRNA levels by genechip arrays reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), use western blotting process, an overview multicellular dome model, antisense oligonucleotide treatment epithelia discussed.
