摘要: Total knee arthroplasty performed after tibial plateau fracture has a known high rate of complications. We hypothesized TKAs infected fractures would have an even higher complication when compared with noninfected fractures. In matched case-control study, we retrospectively reviewed 19 patients who underwent primary between 1971 and 2005. The mean time from the most recent infection to was 5.6 years. minimum clinical followup TKA 2 years (mean, 6.4 years; range, 2–15.1 years). Case were for age, gender, year control subjects no history infections. After surgery, Knee Society scores study group improved 45 63 pain 37 function. Ten case (53%) sustained complications, including surgery wound breakdown (three), manipulation (one), aseptic loosening (two), definitive resection above-knee amputation (two). Recurrent infections occurred in five (26%) at 1.1 Previously knees 4.1 times more likely require additional procedures previous infection.
