摘要: E ND-STAGE LUNG disease (ESLD) is a major cause of death in western civilization. In 1985, chronic obstructive pulmonary (COPD), with more than 75,000 deaths, was the fifth leading United States. Idiopathic fibrosis another form ESLD that has high mortality, and once diagnosis made, 5-year mortality varies from 40% to 80%. c~-1-Antitrypsin deficiency found approximately one every 1,500 5,000 live births accounts for 40,000 patients Cystic (CF), congenital disease, occurs 2,000 births. There currently very little medicine can offer these patients. For many, lung transplantation only hope survival, let alone recovery independent function. Lung transplantation, actually family operations, includes single-lobe pediatric patient, single-lung (SLTx), double-lung (DLTx) carina (en bloc), bilateral sequential (BSSLTx), heart-lung block (HLTx). Various operations are proposed different patient conditions, some widely accepted others. Bolton Weiman I have attempted describe precise physiological mechanisms function elicited by thoracic incisions parenchyma resections scientifically choose appropriate operations. By far, most transplantations SLTx or BSSLTx. Heart-lung en bloc now being performed less frequently past.
