摘要: Abstract In the Central Apennines of Italy, relationships between foreland deformation a Peri-Tethyan carbonate platform (Lazio–Abruzzi domain) and subsequent contractional pattern have been clearly documented by means stratigraphic structural evidence. Stratigraphic data point out occurrence pre-thrusting normal fault systems, allow us to define their with structures. Miocene faults are particularly well thickness facies variation foredeep deposits These controlled sedimentation during Tortonian–Early Messinian times (foredeep stage), produced most accommodation space for clastic in hanging-walls. On contrary, positive inversion appears be quite limited, generally hanging-wall sequences not uplifted above regional. Clear evidence that formed first were later cut and/or rotated thrusting is supported analyses carried along main surfaces. The restoration balanced geological section across study area, based on inference an extended affected contraction, provided total, small shortening value. This lower than previous estimated several authors, same foreland-fold-and-thrust-belt.
