Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis by HPV: Review of the literature and update on the use of cidofovir

摘要: Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis is a viral induced disease characterised by exophytic epithelial lesions affecting the larynx. The problem with its treatment high recurrence of papilloma growth after surgical removal. aim our review to analyse actual use cidofovir, an agent used in adjuvant therapy. We have reviewed 6 manuscripts that included total 118 patients. parameters taken into account were: concentration infiltrated cidofovir (mg/ml), therapeutic response, relapse-free time (months), side effects, genotypes (HPV-6/11/18) and evolution dysplasia. Cidofovir was injected at concentrations from 2.5 15 mg/ml, response 56.25% 82.3% 10.05 49 months. There were 2 cases dysplasia during Ten patients had been infected HPV-6, 4 HPV-11 10 HPV-6 HPV-11. purposes include following: stress juvenile form more aggressive than other forms, demonstrate drug has good action although it does not significantly change final disease, show effects are modest and, finally, disprove hypothesis may promote towards In conclusion, combination removal injection associated recurrent papillomatosis.
