摘要: Twenty-seven cases of benign laryngeal papillomas, both single and multiple variants, were analysed for human papillomavirus (HPV) by DNA slot-blot hybridization chiefly to determine the pattern infection in Hong Kong Chinese. was extracted from paraffin blocks formalin-fixed tissue probed separately HPV 6, 11, 16, 18. Sixteen (59 per cent) showed presence at least one these four genomes. Thirteen (48 positive 11 only. Three other (11 triple positivity 16. None The predominance contrasts with series which have shown either an almost equal distribution 6 or a 6. finding 16 three unexpected. Using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) primers complementary upstream regulatory region viral DNA, genome confirmed all cases. As number 16-positive this study is small, analysis more using fresh biopsy material wider range type-specific PCR warranted relative incidence subtypes papillomas.
