Pathological laughter as heralding manifestation of left middle cerebral artery territory infarct: case report and review of literature.

摘要: Clinical, radiological and pathological studies in patients with stroke, presenting laughter as heralding manifestation, have shown lesions the internal capsule thalamus, basal ganglion, hypothalamus ventral pons. In this report a patient similar manifestation having cortical infarct territory supplied by superior division of middle cerebral artery is being presented. Our case suggests possible influence dominant hemisphere, especially Broca's area, on motor control laughter.
