摘要: Abstract We extend overlap considerations of rare earth ions to: Crystal field splittings when the ion is surrounded by 6, 8 and 12 neighbors in O h symmetry, with F 1- , 2- Cl ligands. The results are compared electrostatic lattice sum calculations as well several experimental results.
