摘要: Objective: Cancer is the second cause of death worldwide, among them liver cancer fifth most important malignancy. The aim this study was to investigate chemopreventive activity Berberis vulgaris fruit extract in hepatocarcinogenesis Sprague dawley rats. Materials and Methods: Fourty-four rats (6-8 weeks old, 150-250 g) were divided into normal cancerous. cancerous groups induced by intraperitoneally injection 200mg/kg diethylnitrosamine (DEN) follow acetyllaminofluorene (0.02%AAF) dissolved corn oil. Animals each branch randomly assigned receive either no treatment or 25, 50 100 mg/kg fruit. animals sacrificed after 11 evaluated for enzyme activities. In addition, Reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction performed identify expression genes encoding markers hepatocytes (albumin, α-fetoprotein). Results: activities GGT, GST ALP between Cancerous Normal significantly different (P< 0.05). treated with vulgaris, enzymes GST, GGT lower than control group RT-PCR as a very sensitive method did not show gene AFP Conclusion : can reduce inhibit during hepatocarcinogenesis. These results suggest against animal models.
