摘要: Background: A previous study of participants with prediabetes found that hemoglobin 1c (HbA ) levels differed between black and white no differences in glucose concentration. Objective: To determine whether black-white HbA level are present other populations across the full spectrum glycemia. Design: Cross-sectional, retrospective. Setting: Outpatient. Participants: 1581 non-Hispanic 18 87 years age without known diabetes SIGT (Screening for Impaired Glucose Tolerance) 1967 older than 40 NHANES III (Third National Health Nutrition Examination Survey). Measurements: levels, anthropometry, plasma during oral tolerance testing. Results: Hemoglobin were higher normal (0.13 percentage point [P < 0.001] sample 0.21 sample), (0.26 0.30 0.001], respectively), or (0.47 0.020] 0.47 [P< 0.013], respectively) after adjustment characteristics to correlate levels. Limitation: The mechanism is unknown. Conclusion: Black persons have glycemia, increase as intolerance worsens. These findings could limit use screen intolerance, indicate risk complications, measure quality care, evaluate disparities health.
